“ARCHITECT OF THE CITY, NANTES PROJECTS”

The exhibition devoted to Georges Evano Architecte d’une ville, réalisation nantaises (1953-1993), was presented in Rooms 30 and 31 of the museum. Between the 1950s and the early 1990s, Georges Evano worked in Nantes as a private architect and urban planner for the city. His many projects became part of a city in total mutation. From post-war reconstruction to urban renovation, Georges Evano was present at the key stages of Nantes’ evolution. A number of his works now serve as references or landmarks in the cityscape: the renovation of the old Manufacture de Tabacs, the Palais des Sports de Beaulieu, collective housing in Dervallières…
