Google Arts & Culture
Like over 1700 cultural institutions throughout the world, the Château des ducs de Bretagne has partnered up with Google Arts & Culture to digitize 8 of its works in HD to offer a virtual tour of the castle, now available to anyone for free via the Google Arts Culture app, or the website: g.co/artsandculture
Visitors can also discover a platform of stories written by the Château’s staff, illustrating chapters of Nantes’s history:
LU, a Nantes history: through countless images, relive the rise of biscuit-making in Nantes through the history of beloved biscuit-maker LU;
The 50 hostages: discover the event that devastated Nantes during the German Occupation;
The castle of the dukes of Brittany: explore the castle’s history from its origins in the 13th century up to the French Revolution;
Nantes and the Atlantic Slave Trade: learn about the Transatlantic Slave Trade through historical facts
These virtual exhibitions offer visitors exclusive content on each of the above themes.
